Fue una esplendida noche, empezando con la presencia de Tere quien regresó después de un largo período de recuperación tras la delicada cirugía de columna. Nuestras felicitaciones para ella y los mejores deseos porque siga mejorando cada día.
Disfrutamos la excelente intervención de los asistentes, nombro a algunos: Néstor Pous leyó un divertido artículo sobre el Gallo de Morón, Rebeca, su poema: Fantasía (Andorina de Amor) – Marcos Oliveira: No Dejes para Mañana.., Rosa Fuentes, con siete palabras claves compuso un divertido poema, Estela García recitó: Al Silencio.
Tuvimos dos nuevos invitados: el psiquiatra, José A. Cruz y Rafael Martorell, quien nos leyó un pasaje de su libro. El Invitado Especial de la noche, Miguel Cervantes, brilló con luz propia al hacer un magnífico recuento de aquellos famosos compositores que hicieron conocer la música cubana al mundo entero: entre ellos Moisés Simons, Rita Montaner, Antonio Mochín, Miguelito Valdés, Esther Borja, Jorge González, Oswaldo Farré. Con los boleros, la salsa, el danzón y la música cubana de todos los tiempos, y su prodigiosa voz, trajo a nuestras mentes aquellos gratos momentos de nuestra juventud, y dejó un agradable sabor de nostalgia y romanticismo en nuestros corazones. En mi nombre, y creo que en el de todos los asistentes, gracias Miguel por ese magnífico regalo.

Once again The Cove/Rincón stroke gold with the great conference given by the Special Guest of the evening, Miguel Cervantes on Cuban music, starting with its beginnings.
True it is that those present read excellent works. Miriam Sarmiento reading about women, Marcos Oliveira with his spiritual prose, Nestor with a story of Cuban folklore, the poetry from Rebeca, Rosa, Ivonne. Through Rodolfo came two writers, Rafael M. and Dr Cruz. Estela G. didn't read a haiku this time, but a sonnet. We enjoyed Esther Requena, María Cervantes, Carmen Crespo, Nilda, Bertha, Teresita, this last one had back surgery, but needed the injection of our gatherings. María Ruiz taking pictures to put up in our Facebook page. Everyone joins one way or another, but the best was when everyone joined Miguel as he gave us demonstrations, with his privileged voice, of some of the songs and we all sang along. No one could hold back with that Cuban pregón "Manicero," nor “Cuando se quiere de veras” and others, as he explained the influence of countries such as Spain, France, Haiti and sounds of the Siboney and Taíno, indigenous people of Cuba, which culminated in so many musical fusions that eventually gave birth to the rumba, son, guaracha, mambo and those boleros everyone knows. An educational evening that made us realize the many boundaries Cuban music has crossed.
