Cada reunión del Cove/Rincón de Miami es una paleta de colores, donde cada artista pone la pincelada maestra de su arte. Los participantes tuvieron la oportunidad de exponer sus creaciones y hubo diversidad de temas, todos de gran calidad.
Pero como colofón a una noche irrepetible, nuestra invitada la Sra. Susana Weingast y su libro: “Simbolismo y Gestualidad en el Cuerpo Humano”dió ese toque ameno e interesante adentrándose en “el estudio sobre la gestualidad y las diversas formas de expresión no verbales” o sea, The Body Languaje o Lenguaje Corporal.
En su amplio curriculum, Susana posee uno de los bagajes más completos en el mundo del Arte que he visto. Especialista en Artes Visuales, pintora, dibujante, artista digital, escritora, etc. Desde 1987 realiza cientos de exposiciones internacionales en paises tan cerca como su natal Argentina y tan lejos como: Bélgica, Brazil, Francia, Italia, México, Panamá,Venezuela, Uruguay, Austria y E.U.A.
En el libro antes mencionado pone de relieve cuanto puede decir el hombre solo con los gestos. El número de señales que usamos a diario, es casi infinito. Una mirada, postura o tono de voz puede decir más que cualquier conversación. Es por eso que se dice, que Un gesto vale más que mil palabras.
Por ejemplo: “Inclinar la cabeza ante otro significa rebajar la fuerza vital del individuo como señal de honor y sumisión. Levantar el mentón es señal de orgullo. Bajar la mirada pudiera asociarse con ocultar los sentimientos.”
Otro ejemplo de que se está mintiendo o no se está siendo sincero es “Rascarse el cuello, arreglarse la corbata, toser, reir, o carraspear” para citar tan solo unos pocos.
Una mano abiertamente extendida tambien es simbolo de franqueza.
Un libro sencillamente bien llevado, tras muchas horas de estudio e investigaciones.

Before getting to the Special Guest of the evening, Susana Weingast and her book “Simbolísmo y Gestualidad en el Cuerpo Humano” we had several presentations.
For example, Ernesto Soler and Sonia Castro read their versions of what The Cove/Rincon means to them. Rosa Fuentes read about how she came into The Cove and how good she feels with us in spite of all the difficulties she encountered to finally be able to do so. Maria Lourdes Ruiz ventured to read pouring her feelings out and there were expressions of love, unity and support as she read. Nilda read a touching poem of our mother. Alba Gallo, her mom visiting from Dominican Republic, Lidia, Marcos and more, all great, but too many to mention. In music we had Linda, who got everybody moving and Rafael with his romantic boleros.
Finally came Susana Weingast and her conference on body language explaining how much can a person say without saying a word, just with body language. There are countless ways we communicate with our gestures, our eyes, our lips, our hands, the way we tilt our head. No wonder it is said that one gesture is worth a thousand words.
I was specially touched when Teresita Llano, a new member, commented on our last magazine and its cover which has a photo taken by me of the hand of my daughter and her adopted son the day she finally brought him home from Russia and I just had to freeze the moment taking the photograph of their two hands as they united forever as mother and child. Ms. Weingast explained that an open hand is a symbol of honesty, of giving of one self, that in the union of their two hands, uniting the palms and grasping tight they were giving to each other their lives.
