Through our “liason” Patricia Rocha, a poetry contest took place for a group of students at Oakdale High School in Louisiana, where she teaches Spanish. Patricia’s Spanish Club donated cash prices to the students who also received certificates from The Cove/Rincón. The 3rd week of March they also studied Frida Kahlo and the students dressed up like Frida. Ganadores del concurso de poesía/Winners: 1st Place Chandler Thompson with Brotherly Love 2nd Place Kori Doyle with The Harsh Reality 3rd Place Leah Incalls with Anew Maestro acargo/Teacher in charge of contest Mr. Robert Rollings
And Hunter Longino was the winner of the Paint a Frida Kahlo portrait contest.
--A través de Patricia Rocha, quien fuera miembro de The Cove/Rincón años atrás antes de mudarse para Louisiana, se llevó a cabo un concurso de poesía en la escuela Oakdale High School en Oakdale adonde ella enseña Español.. Patricia fue el “liason,” el hilo conductor, para llevar a cabo este concurso. El Club de Español de Patricia, donó $20, $30 y $50 a los ganadores. También la tercera semana de marzo estudiaron a Frida Kahlo en la clase de Patricia y todos se vistieron como Frida. Y Hunter Longino fue ganador del Paint a Frida Kahlo portrait.
